Tulsi Tea with ginger and cinnamon for inner warmth

Arriving at the organic market this afternoon, it started to rain! And being the first chilly day in months, I was very cold by the time I got home, especially my feet. Luckily, Mother Nature has a perfect solution for everything. I made a tea of dried Tulsi leaves, fresh ginger and cinnamon. It has a soft taste but very strong effect: when you feel cold or even feverish this is the perfect tea for you! Tulsi is a very well known herb in Ayurveda and is also called ‘holy basil’.

Just put some Tulsi leaves in a tea-strainer in a glass, pour the boiling water and add some slices of fresh ginger and a cinnamon stick. This combination of herbs has a strong detoxing effect, it burns unnecessary body-fat, is anti-viral and anti-bacterial, it is good for skin, digestion, cold, cough, sore throat and fever. It is beneficial in treating respiratory ailments, it improves circulation, it strengthens the immune system and has vitamine A and C. And very important: this tea makes you feel warm and loved inside and gives a very nice calm feeling.
